Wiesbaden's Eco walk-in shower enclosures. Are they better for the environment ? Indirectly, yes! They're made of slightly different materials than Wiesbaden's standard shower enclosures. The glass is 8mm thick instead of 10mm (in the standard version), and the wall profile is slimmer. Less material is used in the production of these Eco walk-in shower enclosures, making them a bit more economical . However, they retain just as much water within the shower area as standard shower enclosures. They're also made of tempered safety glass and are nano-coated (meaning you need less cleaning products, another environmental benefit).
The Eco walk-in shower walls can be placed directly on the floor or on a shower tray and can be combined with side walls of 200 cm high.

Promotes safety: dangerous mold and bacteria no longer adhere to the surface
Reduces cleaning costs: dirt and grease simply slide off the glass. This makes cleaning safe and cost-effective.
These benefits are achieved through nanotechnology, or minuscule nanoparticles. These particles are a billionth of a meter in size. For comparison, one nanometer is to one meter, as a small football is to the Earth.
Because of this, unlike traditional coatings, it doesn't form a layer around the object, but literally penetrates the surface and becomes one with the structure. This prevents dirt, grease, and mold from adhering to the (pre-treatment) porous surface.
Tempered safety glass:
Tempered glass has undergone a special thermal treatment that makes it harder than regular glass. It is five times stronger than regular glass. Tempered glass shatters into thousands of pieces when broken, while regular glass shatters into large, sharp, and dangerous shards. The advantage of this is that people are less likely to suffer injury, and surrounding products are less likely to be damaged if the glass breaks.
